English Touring Theatre want to know what's your favourite English language play?

Hi NTW Community,

As part of their 21st Birthday celebrations English Touring Theatre Company are asking what is your favourite (English language) play?

I cast my vote on Friday and it took me about half an hour of deliberating to finally decide . . . My favourite play isn't written originally in English and so I knew couldn't vote for it. So I started to consider all of the British playwrights who I admired Mark Ravenhill, Shakespeare, Sarah Kane, Tom Stoppard, Aphra Benn, Christopher Marlowe, John Osborne and then I got stuck between a Brit and an American. It had to be Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (Edward Albee) vs The Hothouse (Harold Pinter), and I had to choose . . . The Hothouse. I saw a production of it at the National in London and the atmosphere the words created still stays with me.

Anyway, to vote for your favourite play click here and as an incentive to encourage you to vote the regional winners will get performed by the ETT. Wales is counted in a region all of it's own, so if you've been longing to see your favourite play performed vote now!
