Funny and physical show touring in Feb/Mar

Weird science will combine with hip-hop dance this February for an evening that promises to take audiences on a journey from the bottom of the sea to the far reaches of the universe.

Pixelated Squid & The Universe is an evening of silly and stimulating dance that will be presented in two parts. This first half features The Wonders of the Universe from Wales’ Karol Cysewski, and Swedish/Canadian Tentacle Tribe perform Nobody Likes a Pixelated Squid in the second half.

The Wonders of the Universe from Wales’ Karol Cysewski forms the first half of this double bill and is different kettle of (pre-historic) fish. Offering a humorous and stimulating interpretation of the documentary of the same title by Professor Brian Cox, three geeks and a voice over by the celebrity scientist take an imaginative look at the origins of the universe through dance.

Both performances are sure to make you think, laugh and look at the world in a slightly different way. From tiny creatures of the sea and sky, some downright fishy things that make us human, to all the wonders of the universe. For more information and to book tickets for the show visit www.squiduniverse.com or contact the individual tour venues directly.

The tour, which visits Milford Haven, Swansea, Newport, Abergavenny, Bournemouth and Pontypridd, has been organised by Wales Dance Consortium/ Creu Cymru. With thanks to Arts Council of Wales, and especially to National Dance Company Wales for support through the Dance Buddy scheme.
