Hi! This is Chinatsu Kato. I am a member of Underground Airport and a dramaturge in this team.

As Yasuro and Shuya (other members of UGA who are coming to Wales together) said on the blogs,

we are very excited and feel honored to take a part in this great program.

Thank you for everything, National Theatre Wales, for making this happen!

We filmed a greeting video for all in the community.

I hope you can see a little bit of who we are from this video.

The idea of our story, "Red Dragon and Soil Traveller" comes from our experience of the Great East Japan Earthquake and the following disaster in Fukushima in 2011.

We three travelled Tohoku area where the Tsunami devastation happened, and also Fukushima 9 months after the incident.

We felt so much through this trip seeing people still living in the area under the influence of Fukushima incident. 

Underground Airport has created several theatre pieces about this matter for the last couple of years.

At the same time, we've also just found out that one of the largest Japanese technology company will be building several nuclear units in Wales. We immediately felt we have to think about what is really going on.

In the future, we would like to create "Red Dragon and Soil Traveller" as a theatre piece and it will be a metaphysical tale of ourselves in Japan and Wales. 

Therefore, as a first step, we are grateful to have got this wonderful opportunity to visit Trawsfynydd and Anglesey, Cardiff and meet many people, hear their voices,and feel the air of Wales.

Through this travel, we want to find a way how we can communicate when we have very complicated matters and learn from people there.

We also hope to find how we can do to give back to people we will meet in Wales.
