gweithdy theatr ddogfen am ddim/Free documentary theatre workshop

Ar Dachwedd 19 o 3yh tan 6yh, bydd cyfarwyddwr artistig Theatr Arad goch yn cynnal gweithdy theatre fel rhan o wyl Being Human yr AHRC.
Bydd y gweithdy yn cychwyn efo theatre ferbatim h.y. drwy gyflwyno fersiwn wedi ei olygu o ddeunydd dogfennol, yn yr achos hwn adroddiad (dwyieithog) o achos adolygiad barnwrol gan y Comisiynydd Iaith yn erbyn National Savings and Investments.
Ail ran y sesiwn fydd ymryson, gan rai o fyfyrwyr uwchraddedig yr adran sydd yn dilyn y modiwl Interpretation of Texts and Media.
Trydydd ran y sesiwn fydd ffurf ar theatre fforwm lle bydd y gynulleidfa yn ystyried y dadleuon er mwyn ateb rhai o’r cwestiynau sydd yn codi o greu tribiwnlys yr iaith Gymraeg a ddaw i fodolaeth yn 2015.

Mae sawl cwestiwn yn codi yn sgil creu’r tribiwnlys, gan y bydd un parti yn cyflwyno eu hachos yn Gymraeg a’r llall yn defnyddio’r Saesneg. Dim yn anghyffredin yn hynny, ond wrth gwrd, yng nghyd-destun y tribiwnlys, statws a hawliau ieithyddol yw holl asgwrn y gynnen.

Mae’r gweithdy am ddim, ond oherwydd ei fod dan faner yr AHRC, ae gwefan ar gael sydd yn cynhyrchu e-docyn. Os ewch chi at y linc uchod gallwch ‘brynu’ eich tocyn am ddim.

Bydd y gweithdy yn cymryd lle yn Elystan Morgan 2.50, Campws Llanbadarn, Prifysgol Aberystwyth. Croeso i chi basio’r neges hon ymlaen at unrhyw rai fyddai â diddordeb.

Good morning all,
On November 19th from 3pm-6pm the artistic director of Arad Goch theatre is coming to the department to run a theatre workshop, as part of the AHRC’s Being Human Festival.
The workshop will start off with some verbatim theatre i.e. presenting an edited version of documentary material, in this case the (bilingual) report of a judicial review case brought by the Welsh Language Commissioner against National Savings and Investments.
The second part will be a moot, featuring some of our postgraduate students who are taking the Interpretation of Texts and Media Course.
The third part will be a sort of forum theatre thing where three different audiences consider what they have heard in order to work out the issues that arise from setting up the Welsh Language Tribunal, which will come into being in 2015.

Now, the tricky bit about the Welsh Language Tribunal is that one of the parties to the tribunal hearing will necessarily present their case in Welsh, while the other will necessarily use English. Not that uncommon - except of course, the nature of the dispute here is on language status and language rights, which means that treating one party less favourably on the basis of language is problematic.

Anyway, this is a free workshop, and everybody’s welcome to attend, but cos it’s an AHRC thing, there’s a website sign-up thing that gives you an e ticket. If you go to this link here
http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/tribiwnlystribunal-theatr-fel-teclyn-...
You can ‘buy’ your free ticket.

Also because it’s looking at bilingualism, this is open to people who are not Welsh speaking, as much as those who are, because there will be all sort of exciting translation things going on too. The event will be held in Elystan Morgan 2.50, Llanbadarn Campus, Aberystwyth University. Please feel free to forward this message to anyone you consider might be interested in attending.
