Last week I meet Colombian writer and novelist Juan Esteban Constaín, who was visiting Wales as a guest of the British Council.

He'd already had a whirlwind tour of the Hay Festival, which had obviously impressed him very much, but he also wanted to know more about our national theatre.

Perhaps not surprisingly for a writer, he was fascinated by Gwyn Thomas, and wrote a blog about him as soon as he got home.

Google translate does the piece no justice, but I can tell that Thomas' life story - his early poverty and his sharp wit in particular - really inspired Juan.

No-one would enjoy reading it more than Gwyn Thomas himself, I suspect - and he would need no translator to help him read it.

Now all we need is to persuade Juan to fly back and come and see the show in Edinburgh!

Where does Juan Esteban live Catrin? We're going to be working in Barranquilla for the summer and he's more than welcome to join us- maybe we can do a Gwyn Thomas inspired tri-lingual experiment!
