help save/redevelop llandudno grand theatre

i've been privileged to have been involved from the fringes in this project. i'm really pleased that the new owners of the grand theatre [formerly broadway boulevard] have the local community's interest at heart for the new direction of the once magnificent. for me, i have seen the local area and economy improve since the closure of the broadway nightclub. it makes for a safer place to live, and a happier more inclusive place in which families and investors can put down roots for the betterment of the community.
[i too had some fun times in the club itself growing up, but i have to agree that such economy was ultimately short-sighted and quite destructive to the long-term prospects of the town, hence it's closure and the current sad state of the building! previous tenants gave little back to the community and cared less for the long-term effects of their business's impact on the town]
mark pavey's vision for the regeneration and reinstatement of the grand theatre as a cultural arts centre is to be applauded. he has the skills and experience to work in partnership to deliver a much needed enterprise into the heart of this nostalgic seaside resort. such a centre including the combination of restored heritage and the arts, should be hugely welcomed by the town. similar projects around the uk have boosted community health and welbeing, local pride and sense of place are increased and such projects bring widespread attention to alternative economical investors. this is a real chance for llandudno to enhance her cultural flavour, to continue to improve the lives of local people and deepen the attractiveness of the seaside resort to a wider audience and tourist marketplace.
