London Casting for first table read of"Uneasy Dreamers."

Uneasy Dreamers, award winning author Wayne Adrian Drew’s new play, is a literary fantasy based on the complex lives, thoughts and beliefs of four real, ground-breaking, but very troubled, artists.

It’s St. John’s Eve, June 23rd 1920, a time of fireworks and folk customs, when young people jump through the fames of the traditional bonfires to gain both the acceptance of their peers and in the hope of securing future relationships too.

A quartet of remarkable writers spend a turbulent day together at a costal villa on the borders of France and Italy – a time that won’t easily be forgotten…or forgiven. As the evening draws on, and the local festivities get underway, the characters soon find they inhabit other borderlands too, where life & art, innocence & experience, love & hate, and appearance & reality, all interweave, as they confront not only each other, but also their deepest selves.

Casting will be between now and mid-January, with a first table read to be held in early February for this emotionally intense four-hander. This is a total ensemble piece with four highly demanding multi-dimensional Caucasian roles that require considerable depth of performance and emotional range. Playing ages are early to mid 30's but older actors will be considered as this is a 'period drama' and people often appeared somewhat older than their years at this time. Similarly younger actors, who can project the appropriate maturity, may also apply.

CHARACTERS:

This is the first stage of a potential production process. If the first table read proves successful it would lead to a paid rehearsed reading and then the possibility of a full production.
