Rhondda Rebel - Welsh National Opera
Following the success of our digital projects, WNO Field and Magic Butterfly, WNO are working on an exciting digital project for 2018, that serves as an independent, artistic response to celebrate our production Rhondda Rips it Up! A new opera commission celebrating the life of Margaret Haig Thomas (Lady Rhondda).
The digital experience will premiere at The Sessions House, a court room in Usk (where Lady Rhondda was imprisoned) on 22/23/24 June. The piece is a 5-7 min dramatisation that is in part re-enacting Suffragette, Margaret Haig Thomas (Lady Rhondda’s) trial. This will be a new immersive piece of musical theatre using both live actors and pre-recorded footage of Lady Rhondda singing that audiences will see through augmented reality.
