Ben Tinniswood - 1800hrs

Ben trained as an Actor in Edinburgh. Since then he's toured Britain & Europe as an Actor & Musician. These days he is also a Theatre & Film Maker, Composer & Comedian. His time at Summercamp '14 added another interest to his overactive brain: Sound.

Working with everyday sounds, manipulating, layering & even leaving them naked, Ben explores how sound affects all our senses, how it can manipulate our emotions, reveal hidden memories, induce a meditative state or spark the imagination to create a new story.

Recent adventures in sound this year have included contributing a soundscape to fellow Summercamper Rachel Helena Walsh's installation "Those Saturdays" at the Abacus Gallery. He's also composed some contrasting sound & musical environments for a series of Natural Therapy inductions.

Ben is the founder of & co runs "The Cardiff Sound Collective" a National Theatre Wales TEAM group that experiments with the various ways the human voice can make sound & music.

He is also currently being supported by NTW's Waleslab scheme to research & develop a multimedia work looking at the effects of secrecy & silence on survivors of childhood abuse.

Examples of Ben's sound & music work can be found at: Ben's Soundcloud
