Hi, I am currently engaged in research for "An all male fusion of theatre, dance, music and documentary" entitled "MUSCLE" which, thanks to a small lottery grant, will be performed at Chapter Arts Centre on January 15th/16th.

The show is emerging from interviews with men of all ages across Wales. My time span is short and so would appreciate any help getting to certain communities. I would love to interview more men over 60, and so far haven't really managed to contact anyone dependant upon a rural environment. Also if anyone knows of men who were affected by the Second World War and would be willing to speak about it either on, or off, camera, then please get in contact asap. My number is 07977-048328.

I am also very interested in hearing from the Asian community, so anyone who has good contacts please get in touch.

In order to represent the voices I am recording I am also looking for two actors, one Asian, one over 60. We are only able to pay expenses. However, the work itself will be shown as a "work in progress", with the hope and intention of proving the material and seeking a touring grant later in the year. Obviously, anyone who makes a contribution at this stage will automatically been the first to be considered should the project take off.

We begin rehearsals on December 14th to the 20th, we then break for Christmas and New Year and resume on January 4th for two weeks.

The stories I am getting are variously astonishing, uplifting, horrific, poignant, brutal and/or fragile. I am working with Choreographer Phil Williams and young Cardiff based music maker Gareth Evans. My cast so far includes dancers and young actor/singers. It will be a mix of verbatim theatre (both dramatised and faithfully reproduced), contemporary dance, documentary style interviews and new music.

We are currently building a website www.muscleproject.org and will shortly make our presence felt on Facebook.

But meanwhile, if you're a male with a story to tell, then please get in touch and lets talk.

Many thanks,

Greg Cullen
