We are getting closer to sharing the brilliant work we have been creating with Ocean Park Academy and now have a name for the piece: Dreamscape.   

The learners have decided on their final ideas and are busily creating sets and working on technical and sound design - none of which I am able to share as it is all top secret and we don't want to give the game away! 

Over the past few weeks they have enjoyed exploring their ideas through drama sessions and philosophical debates; they have produced amazing Grime tracks and created fantastical masks; they have written outstanding poetry and shot & edited their own videos; they have composed elaborate soundscapes and have professionally contributed to interviewing many of the applicants for roles in the production team.  

All of this creative work has the added bonus of multiple cross-curricular links so has enabled all pupils to add to their own portfolios of work, whether that be for Creative Media BTEC, Success Within Education Employment and Training BTEC, English GCSE or Maths GCSE, all of which shows that Creative Learning Through the Arts is essential to pupil development, both on a personal and an academic level and that by embracing a creative curriculum, wonderful things can be achieved.   

This has been an amazing journey so far and I am very much looking forward to seeing the finished results.
