Myself and a few friends at the Sherman are about the embark on a mission to Italy, our aim to bring together Oedipus and Antigone, and create a headache! :o)
This small grain of an idea was created by Phil Mackenzie, and since this little explosion in his head full on many ideas, we have booked our tickets to Italy and are getting ready to perform in a beautiful castle in Bologna. Although we only have 3 weeks till we leave and have not actually started rehearsals yet I have full confidence that this show will once again be something out of the ordinary.
This show will most likely be an ensemble piece meaning that as a group of actors together we can a) create a bond that lets us work well together and b) keeps us all on an equal keel, and means that everyone’s talent is exposed in a brilliant light.
So if anyone is in Italy on the 4th of July and fancies something a bit different, then please join us. If not I’ll let you know how it all goes.
Ps please let me know if you are in any open air theatre, as I would love to see something this summer, but more importantly to see new faces to the stage and to support new work.
