Opportunity: Casting Call Four Stories High

University of South Wales third year Scriptwriting are holding a three night showcase of the script extracts from the 8-10th of May called “Three Night’s in May”. We are looking for actors for the first night “Four Stories High” on the 8th of May. The pieces are script in hand/ rehearsed readings.

The Project itself is unpaid, however those cast will be subject to free food/ drink.

Open Auditions are being held from 10 – 2 on:-

30th March in AH101

31st March in AH105

The pieces and the available roles are:-

“Cris/Pin” by Liam Kelly

Pitch: Crispin Pine was all set for new challenges when starting university, he just didn’t bank on one of them being a homicidal time traveller who claims to be a future version of him.

Cast List:

Crispin Pine: 18, male, nerdy, naïve and middle class.

The Pin: 40’s, male, borderline maniac, loudmouth from a post-apocalyptic future.

Amber Parr: 19, female, an impulsive fake hippy. 

Steve 2.0: N/A, a drunken, sarcastic super computer.

 

“Ocean View” by Allan Neve

Pitch: Lucy having seen her family home removed to make way for a Seaview hotel struggles with the realities of a changing community.

Cast List:

Lucy: 24, female, media graduate stuck working in hospitality.

Chris: 39, male, stuck-up documentary filmmaker.

Anna: 57, female, controlling, austere hotel owner.

Charlie: 58, Male, “Yes Dear”, motorbike and fishing enthusiast.

 

“Folie A Deux” by Myles Anthony.

Pitch: Gwendoline (70, terminally ill) wishes to see Paris one more time before she dies, the source of her only happy memories.  Her best friend and ex flower child, Dorothy (68), is all but keeps her sane. They escape from the care home on a frosty morning and embark into the unknown. The pair are forced to challenge their previous perceptions of morality, sexuality and spirituality.

Cast List:

Dorothy: Female, Late 60s. Free Spirit. Vibrant Personality. Eccentric.

Gwendoline: Female, Late 60s. Reserved. Sarcastic. Self-Assured.

 

Bleddyn: Male, 40s. Carehomeworker. Strict. Bossy. Misogynistic.

Arwel: Male, 50s. ‘Welsh Hagrid’. Jolly. Cheeky Caring. Father figure.
