Parallel Lines: Rapid Response - Tracy Harris

After the Parallel Lines performance this Friday, Dirty Protest are holding a fundraiser: Parallel Lines: Rapid Response.

Dirty Protest like to cram new writing into all the time and space they can get their Dirty paws on. They have sent five writers to see Katherine Chandler's award winning play, Parallel Lines, and gave them less than a week to pen their responses. Tracy Harris is one of the five . . .

Tracy is a writer, performance artist and filmmaker. Her plays include past away (Script Cymru) The Exquisite Corpse (True Fiction) The Cloak Room (Sherman Cymru and Mighty Theatre Washington) No Vacancies (Sherman Cymru) Recently she has been working on her one woman show; Lost, Found Stolen (Waleslab and NTS Cove Park) her first feature film' No vacancies,' (spinning head films) and has just finished filming the final 2 parts of a documentary series for BBC Wales on Homelessness in Swansea.

Tracy tells us what inspired her to write her response:

“After watching Parallel lines, I was interested in the theme of truth, different versions of truth and how fragile the truth can be. I was keen to write about the absent father figure and his role in Steph's life. I wanted to explore what makes us who we are as people and how certain moments and choices that we make in life, or are made for us, define and shape us.”

The Rapid Response will invade the Parallel Lines set, after the show at Chapter, at 9pm on Friday the 29th November. The event is free but if you like it why not chuck them a couple of quid!
