Past TEAM Workout & Skill Swap project successes

In preparation for next weeks NTW TEAM Workout and Skill Swap, we've been having a little look at some of the brilliant things past participants have been up to after bringing their projects in various states of development to the event.

A first time writer - brought a script to workout which was then developed with a team of directors and actors at workout, and continued to develop and was eventually performed as part of Made in Roath

A theatre maker - brought an idea for a performance which was workshoped at Workout and as now had a development period, sharing performance and was since developed to a full project

A writer - Met a director as part of Skill Swap who is working with him to develop his draft script to a full performance. They are using actors found through Skill Swap

A film maker- developed a film at workout which has since been made

An author - used skill swap to get a much needed headshot for the inside cover of his book

A film maker - brought 2 scripts to workout, one which has now been shot using actors found through skill swap and one which is in the process of being rewritten after feedback from workout

A writer - brought an idea for a pub based theatre soap opera to workout. Developed it over 3 workouts, performed it with actors found through skill swap as part of made in Roath, is now due to be performed again in Merthyr.

A director - has brought 2 project ideas to workout which were developed during the sessions and have since been performed

A first time writer - brought part of a script to Workout and tested it there, continued development after workout with director and cast found via skill swap. She then went on to produce the piece for performance in 2 Welsh theatre and at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It is now due to be performed in a tour around England.

An actor - found a work experience/internship teaching position with theatre company as part of skill swap

A director - brought a project which was developed over several workout sessions and has since been performed, with some cast coming through skill swap

A writer/performer - used a workout session to develop part of her performance for her highly successful one woman show

A writer/director- brought a script to workout and developed it there. Has since has several performances

It's great to see how many people have taken their projects on to performance or funded development. This is only a selection, but I'm really looking forwarded to adding to it after more events this year.

To book onto our next event in Cardigan, please email team@nationaltheatrewales.org to confirm your place. Make sure you let us know if you are bringing a specific project so that we can timetable in time for it.
