Playable City: A new opportunity from Watershed

Hello Everyone,

Just to point you all towards an exciting new commission from Watershed in Bristol:

Watershed are offering a new £30,000 international commission, for artist(s) who are using creative technologies to explore the theme of a Playable City. The successful artist(s) will be awarded £30,000 to create work in a public space in Bristol and will receive a whole raft of support including touring opportunities.

The successful artist(s) will be awarded:

  • £30,000 award to include the artist’s fee and expenses. In addition there will be a budget available for accommodation, travel and production subject to agreement of the project details with the selected award winner
  • Desk space and access to facilities in the Pervasive Media Studio at Watershed in Bristol
  • Practical support in producing the work including securing locations and technical infrastructure
  • National PR campaign
  • Connection to a vibrant community of artists and creative technologists and the opportunity for discussion/collaboration with both peers and public during and following the production process
  • A high profile public showcase event to launch the completed work
  • Development of touring and future opportunities
