Room to Read

is a perky  one year old!

Bring a book you love and want to share aloud, and meet shortly before midday under the circle sculpture outside Cardiff Central Library to start at 12 noon, Saturday 30th April 2011.

Choose one of the black blocks and at midday stand on or near it - and read out loud.  Everyone reads at the same time, for as long or as briefly as they want, until 12.30.  If you haven’t done this before and would rather sit on a block, that’s fine.  Bring a bright umbrella too, if it's raining.

Help create an inverted mirror of the Library - people reading outside not indoors, people standing to read not sitting, reading aloud not in silence, in public not private, amongst movement and noise not comparative quiet and rest - you've got the picture.

But things have changed since last spring.  So you might like to stop reading at some point, close your book, and stand holding it as you think about arts organisations in Wales and further afield whose voices have been muffled or even silenced...

Then do start reading again so you can make alive and aloud the literature, philosophy, and science writings that you love and make you want to share them

 OUT LOUD!

Looking forward to seeing you there
