Talking to lots of people about Brecht... Awesome!

Over the last few days I've been speaking to lots of people in Merthyr about Mother Courage.  And I'm pleased to report that there's a lot of excitement building!

On Friday I visited an A level English Lit class at The College Merthyr Tydfil to have a chat to the students.  We talked about complex characters and writers who don't give us the easy option of either liking or hating a character but instead give us reasons to do both and allow us to come to our own judgement.  This is how I've always felt about Brecht and I think it's especially pertinent in Mother Courage.  I hope I managed to pass on my enthusiasm to the class.

On Saturday morning I set up a table of flyers and posters in Tesco and, along with lovely TEAM member Cerian, talked to lots of interested shoppers.  The strong community nature of this production was evident when several of the people we spoke to told us that 'oh my friend's involved with this'.

Later that day I went along to the Redhouse Cider & Ale Fair to talk to people there about the show.  One lovely lady thought she'd missed it altogether and was very happy to learn that it opens in May.

I'll be outside Tesco again tomorrow morning and around the town in the following weeks - if you see me say hello!
