Hey

I’m Richard Samuel, 24, and born and bred in the old coal mining capital of the world, Pontypridd, South Wales. I’m extremely pleased to say that I am half of the promoting team alongside Linda Bailey for the forthcoming and fabulous production #Tonypandemonium (that’s for all you tweeps out there). In case you haven’t heard about it here’s the synopsis

“In its centenary year the Park & Dare theatre in Treorchy plays host to the first play from Dylan Thomas Prize winning author Rachel Trezise; a raucous, raunchy, hilarious and heartbreaking account of a daughter’s fraught, decade-spanning relationship with her beautiful, fun-loving and alcoholic mother. ‘You just know it’s going to be one of those nights. She’s on the change. I’m on my period. Hormonal teenager and neurotic mother under one terraced roof? My father’s got a word for it: Tonypandemonium.”

My background is in Marketing having graduated with my masters in 2011 from University of Glamorgan. My experience stems in the live music industry having worked with the Young Promoters network, having built my way up from the bottom to the top. My credentials not include working as part of the Artist Liaison team at Greenman Festival, working at SWN festival, promoting and organising shows for emerging talent and a personal highlight is arranging Ponty’s Big Weekend Festival Fringe Event 2013 which saw a multi-venue free festival sell out of advance tickets and was a well-attended success. My early shows were in the Parc & Dare, so I am pleased  I have also written for PLUGGED IN Magazine for 7 years and interviewed and reviewed some diverse acts.

My interests outside of work include listening to music relentlessly, I’m excited for the new Arctic Monkeys album and have F**K Buttons bombasting out of my stereo after seeing them live. I’m also a football fan and support Cardiff City.

For #Tonypandemonium I will be helping to promote the show especially at grass roots level within the Valleys itself, getting some photo boards done with members of the community (as you can see in my picture) and if you would like to help out please send me a picture of you holding a blank piece of paper and I’ll take care of the rest.  Follow me on my Twitter account where I’ll be updating my progress in real time and on here more periodically, essentially a best of. So if you see me out and about, come and say hi.
