Creative Learning for young people aged 13 to 21

This is a pilot project to build a community of daring young people who will become the next generation of innovators of Performance in Wales and beyond. Volcano will form a new Young People's Drama Company from Autumn 2015 specialising in contemporary Physical Theatre & devised Performance, which will lead to productions with acclaimed companies such as National Theatre of Wales.

As an introduction to the new Young People's Drama Company - Volcano are holding a series of free taster performance workshops.  A unique opportunity for young people to explore their ideas, inspire one another, and discover new skills. The emphasis will be on enabling the participants to unlock their creativity through experimentation, play and sharing, and to build trust and confidence (in themselves and one another) in a supportive professional environment.

The sessions will be led by Director Paul Davies and Choreographer/Movement Director Catherine Bennett and will take place in Volcano’s exciting new Bunker Theatre in The Iceland Building in Swansea High Street. Volcano is a Swansea-based professional theatre company that has been making extraordinary theatre and touring it all over the world for over 26 years.

There are a couple of free taster workshops available in September: 

11am - 4pm SUNDAY 20 SEPTEMBER 13-16 years

11am - 4pm SATURDAY 26 SEPTEMBER 17-21 years

There are limited places available so early booking is recommended.
