Volunteer opportunities with new inclusive theatre company

Calling all Volunteers…

Valley Inclusive Performance (V.I.P) - A NEW Theatre Company will be starting in September 2017.  Be part of the exciting journey and help to shape its future!

I currently work for Chickenshed – an inclusive theatre company based in North London where I have been involved for 22 years, developing the company’s inclusive methodology.  My current position is a project based Creative Producer.  I am now living in South Wales and feel passionate about spreading the inclusive creative methodology across Wales.

V.I.P will be a portable company and will endeavour to reach out into communities.  To work inclusively, it is imperative to ensure a sufficient support structure within the sessions; I am looking for individuals who have a passion for theatre and are inspired by children and young people.  Ideally, you will have a valid DBS.  Inclusive Theatre training will be provided and be on-going.  Travel expenses will be paid.

If you have a passion for and believe in the following, please attend an initial workshop - details below:

To engage the community through inclusive theatre.

To nurture the creativity of children and young people; encouraging confidence in themselves and their ideas.

To empower children and young people to celebrate their differences and enhance their understanding of each other, their community and the wider world they live in.

To realise the strength and power of theatre; it can move people, challenge their beliefs. Be therapeutic and cathartic.

To celebrate and challenge humanity through theatre.

Sessions will commence on Friday evenings in September at St Augustine’s Church Hall, Pontllanfraith. Sessions as following (times subject to change):

4.30-5.30pm Children’s Theatre 1 (5-7yrs olds)
