Dance Bytes, Welsh Independent Dance's unique choreographic development scheme, provides choreographers with the opportunity to create work through three stages of development, enabling exploration and experimentation.

The first stage of Dance Bytes, ‘Presentations’, took place on 3rd & 4th October 2009 in Chapters main theatre.

Following an evaluation session with all the choreographers, the panel have made their selection, and WID would like to congratulate Jessie Brett; Eleanor Brown & Kim Noble; Jo Shapland and Joe Wild & Angharad Matthews who will be going on to the second stage ‘Work in Progress’ showing in the Chapter studio on Friday 27th November.
Due to popular demand there will now be two performances at 5.30pm and 8pm. Tickets are £8 which includes a complimentary glass of wine. We hope that you will join to see the work and engage with the artists. Box office 029 2030 4404

Dance Bytes 09/10 Critique Award
WID is continuing its initiative to support critical discourse and encourage greater audience participation through its critique award. The Dance Bytes initiative allows the artists and the audience to look closely at the creative process - what works, what doesn’t work, and why? This exchange between audience member and artist is extremely important to the development of the work. All audience members are invited to submit a written critique of Dance Bytes ‘Work in Progress'. The winner will receive a commission of £150 to review Dance Bytes ‘New Work’ at Weston Studio, Wales Millennium Centre on 16th & 17th March 2010.
