Hi Catherine, :) Many thanks for your post, I hope you are well, Im an actress in Cardiff. My Agent- is Emptage Hallett Cardiff office, I am working on small film and TV projects but have a real passion for theatre, wish to get back into the swing of it.. I have been following the success of the shows created by National Theatre Wales, Wish I could be of interest to the company for future projects, I am always keep an eye out. Hope to catch a show soon.. Wish you all the best. Keep in touch,
Kind Regards Carli
Peri was quizzing me about next week and I realised I might not have asked enough questions in my giddiness to get involved! Do we need to prepare anything in advance or just turn up? We happy to take on facilitation or directorial roles if required but are equally happy to go with the flow. However I am a bit of a planner so if you need us to lead anything of day 1 it might be nice to know a lttle more. Really looking forward to seeing the show in Ponte tomoz! Cheerio Sarah ps hoping to bring 3 young people with us
Hi Catherine, sorry it's taken so long to reply. Yes I will put up a blog, I have put a website up now so at last I can start to develop some kind of identity for the project. Thanks =)
Hi Catherine,
Just wanted to let you know I've a piece in the Miniaturists at the Arcola on March 21 at 5pm and 8pm. It'd be great if you could make it. Best wishes, Lisa.
Hello Catherine - Hope you're well. :)
I will be performing in Bare Knuckle's (a brand new theatre company to Cardiff) fundraiser on Saturday the 20th of Feb and I'd love NTW to check it out.
There will be scenes from..."ROMEO & JULIET" and the musical "SONGS FROM A NEW WORLD" as well as music sets from KATY BURGESS, CHEVIOT HILL and THE BIG WHAT?! BAND - A soul band I'm a vocalist with.
Like I said it would be awesome for you to check it out as it's a group new to Cardiff and the more who know about us the better. Here's the fb event link if you'd like to check it out?
Hi Catherine,
Hope things have been going well there through January - almost February already!! I'm currently touring 'Tall Tales' with Clwyd Theatr Cymru, written and directed by Tim Baker. We have a guest night on Thursday (January 28th) at 6:30pm in the Emlyn Williams Theatre up here in Mold, and just wondered whether anybody there would be free and interested in popping up to see the show? If so, feel free to let me know on here or to give Nerys a ring in the education office to book a place.
It's a lovely 4-hander consisting of 5 short stories and should be done by 8pm (just in case you need to get back to Cardiff!)
Again, hope things are all good and hope to catch you soon!
Thank you for your reply. My hope is to go into producing, I've had some experience in it and hope to work with a London based company over summer who work out in communties, helping arrange aspects of their projects on a volunteer basis! However, my problem is that after graduating I'm going back home (finances will not allow me to go anywhere else!). I wonder if you have any advice on how to kick start a career in producing and how to do so without living in a city? Thank you so much for your time!
Thanks for your message, Catherine. Indeed, the final practical pieces will be staged during the last week of March, so the next couple of months are expected to be rather busy! I'll be sure to cheekily plug my own performance on here nearer the time - perhaps you yourself may find the time? We'll be working on integrating the styles I mentioned on the forum.
Hi Catherine - I never responded to your message last August - something must have got in the way, life has been busy. But, no, I haven't done any research (yet) in Cardiff, it's mostly been India, Nepal, Bangladesh (which is where I was earlier this month). I just had a chat to John McGrath and joined the Assembly group at his suggestion so should be more connected from here on...
Hi Catherine,
Hope you're well. Just wanted to let you know I've a piece on in London on Jan 31. The link's here: http://www.totalbeast.co.uk/sixminute.html. It's really short though (and I'm not in rehearsals for it so adding a disclaimer), but should have a short on in Cardiff later this month too. Also, have a slot in the Miniaturists in March - 20min piece so a bit more substantial - if I send you the info nearer the time? Lisa x.
We met in september at the Taliesin Arts centre. The Wales Graduate Co is doing another show at the Taliesin, the Gate in Cardiff and The Kings head in london. Its a two hander called 'Marathon' adapted by Colin Teevan. Would love to see you there.

As you have discovered I am more adept at navigating valleys and mountains than technology. X

Great to hear the New Critics scheme has got off the ground.
Is there any chance of some feedback for those of us who were unsuccessful?
