Hi all just a quick overview from me on the workshop that took place with the 5 poets working on the De Gabay project. This was a week long workshop organised by Gavin Porter who as you might know as the Creative Associate for National Theatre Wales and directed by Mathilde Lopez.

In my opinion this was a real success in terms of community engagement, interaction and participation as the community had a direct experience of the POETS and NTW through them being in and around Butetown for the whole week.

For others who we have asked to be directly involved I think it gave them that knowledge that this project is about working together as a community and all are encouraged to take part.

As we worked through the week the poets spent  lots of their time speaking with the residents and asking them how they felt about leaving in Butetown and then turned it into poetry in some cases and included some of the stories in the performance.  And here is one of the poems.
