Our Head of Production at National Theatre Wales, David Evans, recently did a presentation for Julie's Bicycle, an organisation who make 'sustainability intrinsic to the business, art and ethics of the creative industries'.

David has written a blog on National Theatre Wales' approaches to sustainability as a company that performs everywhere from aircraft hangers to castles:

'National Theatre Wales’ mission could be seen as to make theatre in non-conventional spaces. The driving force behind this is to take theatre to places where people do not have ready access to theatre. 

Underlying this is an ambition to make low impact theatre – our impact should be on people memories , not on their environment.  We sometimes liken our visits to a footprint in the grass; the grass will recover quickly but the footprint lingers in the memory.'
