A passion for theatre?

Looking for experience in a producing theatre?

A commitment to excellent customer service?

Then we want to hear from you!

A new era is starting at Sherman Cymru and we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic team of volunteer ushers to help to deliver excellent customer service at the Sherman.

This is a moment of real opportunity for our Company, which is the only producing house in the capital city and one of Wales’s most important arts organisations. We completed a major refurbishment and extension of our Theatre in 2012, and in February 2014 we were delighted to welcome our new Artistic Director, Rachel O’Riordan. The Company has embarked upon the next exciting chapter for the Sherman with a commitment to an artistic programme that is ambitious, inventive and memorable for our audiences alongside a drive to make the theatre as accessible to as many people as possible.  To achieve this vision we need a team of volunteer ushers who are passionate about the work that we create and produce, and who will provide a warm welcome for all audiences, existing and new.

If you feel you’ve got the energy and experience for this challenge, we’d be delighted to hear from you.  As a volunteer usher you will receive a great benefits package including 2 complimentary tickets to every Sherman Cymru production and a range of training and development opportunities.

We are holding an open event on Saturday 17 January, 10am – 1pm (on a drop-in basis). Come along to find out what’s involved and what to expect from volunteering at the Sherman. You will be given a full tour of the building and have time to chat to members of staff about the role.

For further information or to register for the open event, please contact: Dan Biscombe, Volunteer and Visitor Experience Manager daniel.biscombe@shermancymru.co.uk
