Art and Education Network: South East Wales

The Arts and Education Network: South East Wales is one of four regional networks at the heart of Creative Learning through the Arts, a five year Arts and Education Action Plan. The networks deliver a major strand of the action plan, the All-Wales Arts and Education Offer.

Working with schools, the Regional Education Consortia, local authorities and stakeholders in the education, arts, creative, cultural and heritage sectors, the network aims to improve arts experiences and opportunities in schools.

The remit of the networks is to:
1.Organise a programme of high quality professional development for teachers, artists, arts and cultural organisations.

2.Establish and coordinate networking opportunities for teachers artists and organisations from the arts, creative, cultural and heritage sectors – both digital and face to face.

3. Connect schools with artists and arts organisations – act as a ‘broker’.

4. Collect information on the regional ‘offer’ and publicise examples of best practice.

5. Deliver the Local Arts Champions programme.

The Arts and Education Network: South East Wales, is seeking a methodical and organized individual to help deliver the network programme.

The post holder will need to deliver effective, highly competent programme support. You will be well organised, calm and solution-orientated. You will be able to plan ahead, and predict and overcome obstacles. You must be able to use your initiative and maintain a flexible approach to your work. The Assistant Network Co-ordinator will manage their own time effectively, with the ability to work under pressure and have the determination to drive tasks through to practical completion.

You will have excellent administration skills, preferably gained in an education or arts environment. Strong attention to detail is vital, alongside well-honed logistical ability.

You will have previous experience of co-collating, co-ordinating and disseminating information across different platforms and for different audiences.

You will have demonstrable organisational and IT skills with knowledge of database systems and project planning with spreadsheets.

You will have a genuine passion and knowledge about education and the arts in Wales. This role requires you to have excellent interpersonal skills to build and sustain strong working relationships with colleagues and external organisations and individuals in the arts and education sectors.
