Tenby Creative Practitioner Opportunity

Tenby Church in Wales Primary School Creative Practitioner Opportunity

Tenby Church in Wales Primary School is looking to work with two enthusiastic, imaginative and innovative Creative Practitioners for a project to design and create an engaging space within our school.  We hope to inspire creative writing and digital storytelling to raise literacy standards in a mixed year 3/4 class.

The school is brand new; it is therefore a blank canvas open for fresh and exciting ideas.  We are hoping to find an inspirational designer with experience of creating and building sets, as well as a fantastic storyteller with experience of delivering creative writing workshops and working within the digital realm.

The project will take place during the Spring Term of 2018 and will begin in January.  It will run for approximately 12 weeks.  The precise timeframe and number of sessions will be negotiated with the successful candidates.

We are hoping to interview artists who have specialised in set design and builds to help us create a physical inspirational space as well as writers and performers who are experienced in creative writing and digital storytelling.

The total budget for the project is £5,000 for practitioner delivery and planning fees (at a rate of £250 per full day) and reasonable travel and subsistence expenses.  This budget will also include project-relevant materials.

Deadlines for expression of interest: 5pm, Wednesday 1st November.  Interviews will be held on Wednesday, 8th November from 1:15pm at the school.

The successful creative practitioners must be available to attend a 2-day training session, taking place between 15th- 22nd November in either Llandrindod Wells or Swansea (unless they’ve already attended this training for a previous lead creative schools project).

For further details about this opportunity and to submit your expressions of interest along with your CV, please email both our Creative Agent: naomichiffi@nationaltheatrewales.org and School Co-ordinator: Dows-ParkO@hwbmail.net
