Professional Pathway Programme

For the second year running, The Other Room is proud to continue its ‘Professional Pathway Programme’, a year-long creative development scheme for Welsh, Wales-based and/or Wales/trained directors and producers that offers a genuine professional pathway into the industry.

From 3 June 2019 - 31 May 2020, in partnership with the Wales Millennium Centre (WMC) and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, the programme will provide work-based development for producers and directors in the form of four remunerated roles and mentorship support from the Executive and senior management team. Each role has a specifically tailored set of responsibilities and opportunities designed to provide them with rigorous and targeted professional development.

Trainee Director: Open to applications from anyone with former directing or assisting experience in any professional, educational or amateur capacity.

Trainee Producer: Open to applications from anyone with a desire to learn producing.

Associate Director: Open to applications from anyone with a minimum of 2 professional directing credits, with former Trainee & Associate Directors of TOR guaranteed an interview.

Associate Producer: Open to applications from anyone with a minimum of 2 professional projects with former Trainee & Associate Producers of TOR guaranteed an interview.

We actively encourage applications from individuals within BME and welsh language communities. Application submissions are open from Monday 15th April through to Midday, Tuesday 30th April. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
