WalesLab information

WalesLab was NTW's initiative for supporting emerging artists and new ideas for performance. This is a group and discussion forum for those artists involved in WalesLab or those interested in learning more about the various projects under development.

WalesLab consisted of:

Summercamp:

A summer camp for up to twenty theatre makers and artists of varied experience to share ideas, learn form each other and stimulate new collaborations and projects (watch the video below to find out more).

WalesLab projects -

Small groups working for around 1-2 weeks based somewhere in Wales.

Germinate:    Three times a year small groups of artists will be offered the opportunity to spend around two weeks somewhere in Wales developing an idea or project which they have already begun working on, and will share their work with a local audience. There will be three Germinate projects a year, one of which will have an international element.

WalesLab is no longer open for new submissions. Have a look at the 'Your Work' page on the NTW website to find out about how to share your ideas with the company.

Due to a very high number of applicants for Summercamp this year (great news!) we haven't been able to finish shortlisting this week (bad news!).

I will be in contact with everybody who has applied as soon as we have made a decision.

Have a great weekend

Hi. Helping Everyman Theatre, Cardiff, to get a new initiative off the ground. Title - "Everyman's Theatre Lab - The Melting Pot". Aiming to create a regular opportunity (with professional input) for our members, in terms of skills training (development of current skills, or acquiring new ones - e.g. auditioning; acting; directing; stage management; technical); creating new work - writing/ devising/ collaborating; experimenting with form, content, genre etc. Working on a funding application for a project, which we hope will help to re-energise the whole Company. If there is anyone out there willing to offer professional contributions - input, workshops, expertise - we'd love to hear from you. I'm happy to act as initial contact, on behalf of Everyman. Thanks.

I am running this workshop soon -  for those interested in movement and investigating relationships and intersections between (performing) bodies and environments. It also happens to be the day after the NTW Assembly event in Cardigan and in the same vicinity.

Hi Simon - just wanted to check that you received the submission for next Wales Lab rounds  - the 'Our Mothers' project?  I think the next 'deadline' might be coming up?

Also, hope you get to come see Maudie's Rooms in Bute Street?  (see blog for details...)

Cheers x

Here's a blog post from Rosie at Articulture about their up coming event on the 9th May.

Great for anybody thinking about making work outdoors.
