WalesLab was NTW's initiative for supporting emerging artists and new ideas for performance. This is a group and discussion forum for those artists involved in WalesLab or those interested in learning more about the various projects under development.
WalesLab consisted of:
Summercamp:
A summer camp for up to twenty theatre makers and artists of varied experience to share ideas, learn form each other and stimulate new collaborations and projects (watch the video below to find out more).
WalesLab projects -
Small groups working for around 1-2 weeks based somewhere in Wales.
Germinate: Three times a year small groups of artists will be offered the opportunity to spend around two weeks somewhere in Wales developing an idea or project which they have already begun working on, and will share their work with a local audience. There will be three Germinate projects a year, one of which will have an international element.
WalesLab is no longer open for new submissions. Have a look at the 'Your Work' page on the NTW website to find out about how to share your ideas with the company.

Hi Lovely Waleslab Members!
I'm here to give a shout out to a new group on the NTW community - Theatre Playgroup. Theatre Playgroup is a new project supported by TEAM and WMC.
It will take place over 6 weeks, beginning in September and will be an opportunity for Actors, Directors and Writers and.. well anyone else.. to read a published play, discuss, workshop and rehearse sections and then devise new work based on an element of the published work and share it at the WMC...
Interested? Want to find out more?

I am running this workshop for artists, performers, researchers, writers in rural West Wales, exploring the relationships between bodies and environments and facilitating a collaborative context for creating independent works:
hinterlands 3
creative investigations of bodies and environments
September 12 - 15th 2014
created and led by Ailsa Richardson
penpynfarch creative retreat centre
the combination of this workshop and the setting of Penpynfarch provides an opportunity to refresh creative batteries and investigate creative practice – to tune in, slow down, play and activate as necessary.
we will be investigating the ‘hinterlands’ where bodies intersect with their surrounding environments and what we create in/at this intersection.
For more information about the workshop see http://www.ailsarichardson.com/professional/ - pro2
Read about Ailsa’s background and training here and a booking form is available via dropbox or from ailsajr@btinternet.com

Two great interactive performances on Thursday and Sunday this week as part of International Performance Festival Cardiff. If you've ever craved something a bit more authentically live and genuinely interactive come along and see one of these - they're the closest to 'stand-up' drama or post/punk theatre I've ever seen:

Good morning.

There's also a rare screening of the TV documentary of Brith Gof's Gododdin project with a Q&A with Mike Pearson and guests tomorrow night at Chapter http://www.chapter.org/node/5472. Highly recommended to all those with an interest in experimental theatre / theatre in Wales / site-specific theatre and how we got where we are today....
