Hello, Does anyone know a clever person who could make my cut-outs move? I am hoping to create a performance with gyrating cut-outs of legs and arms but I don't know how to make is happen! HELP!
thanks

Hello Dawn,
Are you looking for someone to help with the mechanics of animating your puppets or, do you need help in bringing them to life in a performative way?

I'm not a specialist puppeteer but, my work in circus crossover forms has involved both technical and creative movement with puppets. I'd be happy to help.

Happy new year to you, Dawn. James.
Hi James,
Thanks for your response - I am hoping to mechanically animate cut-out legs and arms (life size photographs mounted onto wood)so they move backwards and forwards. They will remain in one place on the stage but gyrate - I can't really describe what I mean but I imagine it will involve a motor and some cogs or pistons. Sorry to be very vague but I am not a technically minded person! Any suggestions would be greatfully received...
I hope you're having a great 2010!
thanks again
Dawn
Hi Dawn,

Sounds like you're at a complicated technical stage that is maybe outside what I can help with right now. However, my partner in Citrus Arts is from a movement and animation backgroud & really wants to experience more hands-on making stuff particularly in puppetery. Maybe the two of you could agree some kind of skills exchange?
Bridie is a member of the NTW community & would love to hear from you.
James
