Writer wondering if any actors would help.

I have a play that won script slam many years ago and I have now developed further. Next Thursday 16th the script is being read as part of it's development.

I still need an actor or two to help read. The reading will be in Llanishen, Cardiff either mid afternoon or early evening. Probably last just over an hour.

The characters are both male, approx 50,  but any male actor over 30 would be fine for a reading. As I said this is not in line for production yet so this is purely a chance for an actor to enjoy reading and oil his wheels.

Please contact me through this website or at gcardy64@gmail.com

Thanks

geraint.

Reminder of Ignite Theatre auditions tomorrow being held in Newport:

Lovely

Cat is a young and vibrant primary school teacher, but a false accusation of assault on a child leads her to fear for her self destruction.

A new play that examines the line between education and parenthood. What happens when a parent points the finger at a teacher when their child has a social issue or behavioural problem, and how can this have such a damaging effect on their career?

This play is written for four actors multi-rolling ten roles and so we are therefore looking for the following:

Cat - (F, 24-28)

Kayleigh / Anna / Liz - (F, 24-30)

Joanna / Celia - (F, 30-40)

Rob / Neil / Rhodri / Paul (M, 30-40)

Auditions will be held on

SATURDAY 4TH JUNE @ 12:30PM

Barnabas Arts House

New Ruperra Street

Newport

NP20 2BB

For the audition, please prepare a contemporary monologue that fits with the character and subject matter of the play. You may also be asked to do some in-hand script work and improvisation.

To CONFIRM attendance to the audition please email your name and the character you are wishing to audition for to info@ignitetheatre.org.uk

Please note: As a young theatre company, we do not currently have the resources to be able to pay actors an up-front fee. However we do work by profit share, where-by the 4 actors and writer will be compensated with 10% each of the ticket sales. We are therefore looking to work with people who are community focussed and able to work as part of a co-operative that will ensure the success of this production.

2016 is the very first year of the Cardiff Fringe Theatre Festival, and we are working to make it an annual event that local artists can continue to benefit from. This year it will take place from 20th to 25th June, and will present work across seven venues from ten of the most exciting theatre companies in the South West.  Come and witness history being made as we pour fuel on the fire of Cardiff’s cultural explosion! Details here:

FUNDING YOUR WORK!

A free workshop at Carnegie House, Wyndham Street Bridgend, this Thursday evening at 18:30.

We hold a monthly event for artists and creative people from the borough and beyond to get together and discuss some of the things that are important to them. This is a great opportunity to share your work, to meet other artists and to get involved in some creative discussions. Each event features at least 2 guest speakers. Refreshments provided.

This event brings together a range of artists who have taken different paths to fund a creative project, including applying to Arts Council of Wales, crowd-funding and organising fund-raising events.
