MOUNTAINS MAY MOVE
A new Welsh story about fighting for community, the action unfolds through physical theatre, rousing Welsh folk song and new writing, bringing to life a valley torn apart by their council, big business and eventually themselves.
The piece was developed in residency in the Rhondda Valley, Wales, working with one of the few still standing ex - mining theatres of the 1800’s to tell the story of a family, who against all odds, fought for what they believed in.
BUT NOT WITHOUT A FIGHT.

Hello TEAM, are there any performers out there that would be interested in busking at Hobbs Point, Pembroke Dock as part of the Bungee HQ for Pembroke Dock Bungee off the Bridge?

Or anyone who might like to jump for that matter?!

Saturday 15 October

9am - 5pm

50 bungee jumpers

One of only 2 opportunities to bungee over water in the UK (and probably the most picturesque!)

A community event.

We're trying to create a bit of an atmosphere at the main viewing area, which will include live screen video of each jumper!

TEAM, check out the opportunities for Actors, Directors and Writers from the programme SCRIBES by the Newport Playgoers Society!

SCRIBES is the new programme committed to nurturing and developing aspiring and established playwrights in Wales. Initiated by Newport Playgoers Society, the programme will endeavour to showcase work from playwrights wishing to develop their voices alongside the NPS season through a series of readings, scratch nights, workshops and writers events.

WRITERS. WE NEED YOU.

The next bit is simple - we need writers!

As an launch to the programme, we will be coordinating a scratch night to showcase new work from Welsh playwrights. We are looking for ten minute plays with an open theme. The chosen eight plays will be worked and developed ending with a performance at the Dolman Theatre on the 14th October by a company of actors and directors.

Plays can be of any theme. They must be no longer than 10 minutes and have no more than 3 characters.

We look forward to reading what you have for us!

Deadline: 9th October 2016, Midnight

Email your submissions to

DIRECTORS. ACTORS.

SCRATCH SCRIBES requires committed and determined directors to helm the production of its 6-8 short, new plays produced on the 14th October. This is a great chance for directors to continue exercising their craft in the realms of brave and exciting new writing.

HOWEVER. We'd also love to hear from anyone who has never directed before and wishes to give it a try! Should you wish to direct something challenging and still bitesize - this is the perfect platform to begin.

If you are interested in directing for SCRATCH SCRIBES,

please email interest to:-

scribesdolmantheatre@gmail.com

Rehearsals will be on the evenings of the 12th and 13th October, accumulating in a performance on the 14th. Each play will be a 10-minute script-in-hand reading on the Dolman Foyer stage.
