Arts Active will be holding an Artist's Fair and Regional Network Event for A2:Connect Arts and Education Network Central and South area at the beginning of April. Its an event designed to showcase artists and arts organisations who work in schools and to build connections and generate engagement within the sector. Among the delegates will be headteachers, creative agents, arts development staff and other arts professionals involved in bringing artists into schools.

The free event will be at Cyfarthfa High School on 5th April. There will be opportunities to deliver workshops which can be observed by delegates, a trade fair in the main hall where artists and arts organisations will have stalls to showcase their work with schools, and then a Regional Network Meeting with a panel led discussion, and some Pecha Kucha style artists presentations.

Hi all,

I'm looking for an artist who specialises in working with re-used/re-cycled materials to run 1 or 2 workshop sessions at a primary school in Neath as part of the Lead Creative Schools Scheme with Arts Council Wales.

The project will explore how an outside woodland in the school grounds can be transformed into a learning zone with different areas used for different activities.  I'd really like to focus some of the project on environmental awareness, e.g. how we can make use of recycled or repurposed materials.  If this sounds like your thing, please get in touch!  ruth_stringer@yahoo.co.uk - I'll pass details to the rest of the team.

Many thanks!

I specialise in custom one of pieces, the more unusual and off the wall the better, so if you're looking for something unusual for your next production or just need something specific in a hurry drop me a line at jpsworkshop3@gmail.com

In the meantime check out my youtube channel for more examples of my work and some other fun projects.

Doppelgangster exploded onto the world stage with Catastrophilia (2015/16); an incendiary year of performances, online videos and subversive political interventions. Read the company's Annual Report 2015/16

The Jerwood Foundation are trying to find out how much it costs to get started in the arts and creative sector, looking at the past 10 years.

They've put together a super short and simple questionnaire (it to me literally 1 min) -

As part of our production of The Mountaintop @ The Other Room we are looking to programme two Speak Easy Events on 8th and 15th October.

What is a Speak Easy Event?

Fio want to bring people together in a conversation about race, equality and poverty in 2016. Looking at the themes of The Mountaintop. Asking what has changed since the death of Martin Luther King?

We will be working with Black History Month Wales, Stand Upto Racism and other organisations to programme two event days including speeches, discussions, music, poetry and more.

We are looking for people who are interested, inspired and motivated by issues around racism, poverty and equality.
