TwLetteratura!

Literature Wales and Head4Arts have partnered up to offer free workshops exploring TwLetteratura, which uses Twitter dynamics - brevity and sharing-  to engage communities with reading, reinventing the readers’ relationships with texts and making it fun.

TwLetteratura is one of the 15 good practices enlisted in the manual “Promoting Reading in the Digital Environment”, published by the European Union and written by the work group of the experts in digital reading of the EU States. TwLetteratura uses the platform betwyll to promote analogical and digital reading in Italy and in Europe, in collaboration with all those who recognise the shared values of reading, culture, and freedom of expression.

Literature Wales and Head4Arts are offering 3 free workshops led by the co-founder of this award winning scheme – Pierluigi Vaccaneo:

  • Combine reading and social media to explore TwLetteratura techniques.
  • Link with other projects across Europe.
  • Join ‘The Truce’ Project to discover more about migrant stories, shared reading and social commentary.

If you are interested in getting involved, contact post@literaturewales.org or 02920472266.

Gwanwyn Community Grant Scheme now open!

Gwanwyn is a month-long national festival held across Wales in May each year celebrating creativity in older age.
Gwanwyn, which means ‘spring’ in Welsh, celebrates older age as a time of opportunity for renewal, growth and creativity. Our aim is to offer opportunities for greater participation by older people in the arts, whether visual arts, drama, storytelling, music, literature, photography, dance or film. The festival provides an opportunity for older people to get inspired, get immersed and get involved.

The festival operates a community grants scheme offering sums of up to £500 to enable groups all over Wales to organise an event, or a series of events, for the festival in 2017. All kinds of groups can participate, (choirs, care homes, community groups, art, dance and theatre groups, writers clubs...) The scheme can support a range of exhibitions, events and performances all over the country.
In 2016 over 70 groups participated in events involving over 10,000 people.

Applications are now open with the deadline for submission on Wednesday 7 December 2016.

For an application form and an information pack with details on how to apply please download from the Gwanwyn website http://gwanwyn.org.uk/ or to request a pack by post please call Age Cymru on 029 20 431 555
