Hi everyone.
Details of event as follows:
The Chat Room
Saturday 6th June, 11.30am - 2.30pm
IKEA Wales, showrooms
The Chat Room is a story telling exercise. Seven characters will sit and each tell you a three -minute story about their life. You, the IKEA customer, are invited to listen to the story. Just sit down on the sofa, have a cake or a drink and hear what the person has to say. The story may resonate with you, or may bore you. It might make you want to talk, or stun you into silence. It might make you think about how little time you take to sit and listen to someone else. You can ask questions, or you can thank the person and leave it at that. The choice is yours. Whatever your choice you will have helped the writer and the actors create a piece of theatre. And for that we thank you.
Why is this happening in IKEA?...
Neil Bebber’s ten minute play ‘7 People’ won The Sherman Theatre’s ScriptSlam competition. His challenge now is to develop the ten minutes into a full length play. Neil, with the support of directors Sarah Bickerton and Suzanne Phillips and seven actors are using the aMuse experience at IKEA Wales to develop the next stage of the play.
Using the imagination of the actors and the ears of the IKEA Chat Room, participants will unravel their past, the key events that shaped them and embark on a journey of self discovery of which you, the listener, are part. If you leave your details, we will contact you to let you know when the play is on, and you will get a credit in the programme for helping us unravel this complex human tale.
For more information, please contact Suzanne Phillips (co-ordinator) on 07946 398006 or Laura Evans (aMuse Project) on 07932 153670.
Hope to see you there and would be interested in every/anyone's views on invisible theatre!
Thanks,
Neil.
