Hello! If you're new to this social network site, please introduce yourself to our community.

Who are you? Why are you here? What do you do? How are you already involved in theatre - as a fan/participant/performer/artist? What do you want from National Theatre Wales? How do you want to become more involved with us and what we do?

PLEASE - Be honest and don't feel that you have to impress anyone.

As for me, I'm Catherine and I'm a Creative Associate with National Theatre Wales. I am Cardiff born and Cardiff bred... and very proud of it. I am a theatre director and have directed plays and lead projects with professional performers, new writers and young artists in lots of exciting places.

I want National Theatre Wales to put Welsh talent in Welsh productions on an international stage, speaking with and for Welsh artists and Welsh audiences. This social network will be the first place for this to happen as it is a space where National Theatre Wales can have an open dialogue with its core members - you, our community.

I hope you will use this social network to influence our work, to tell us how you want to get involved, what work we should be making, where you want us to go, where we are doing well and where we can do better.

Together we can build a community of people who talk to each other to make National Theatre Wales the best it can be - a truly National Theatre owned by the community it works with and for.

hello, we are framework.

framework are a collaborative arts group based in Swansea who work with live art, participatory action and socially based practice. We organise exhibitions & events for our peers in Wales including 'Annexe: work not selected for the National Eisteddfod, 2008' at tactileBOSCH and 'Art's Birthday: a week long celebration in Swansea' which included an 'art-themed' three course meal at Elysium Gallery where participants dressed up as their favourite work of art and fought each other for the title of 'best fancy dress'. Desert was red jelly with plastic animals in (homage to damien hirst. This was the only known UK event that celebrated Art's Birthday.

We are best known for the monthly event 'Framework Social' which was held in an old working mans club in Swansea which hosted live action, performance, participatory work, installation, projection, animation, sound work, spoken word and more from artists and performers in Wales. It was a space to try out new work and to socialise.

You can see the video for Framework Social here http://www.weareframework.org/page9.htm

and the rest of the website here:

An intrinsic aspect of our practice is collaboration, community and interaction. We have an interdisciplinary approach to making work and 50% of framework's members were named 'Welsh Artist of the Year' in time based media, photography and drawing(!)in May, 2009.
I'm Caroline and have worked in arts fundraising for 7 years. I have worked for South Wales Intercultural Community Arts (SWICA), Wales Millennium Centre and am currently at National Museum Wales.

I have been involved with the Theatre since the age of 4 and it's a family business as my partner is a sound and AV technition, my step father owns a lighting company and until recently my mother owned a theatrical costumiers. There's no business like show business eh?!
Hi I'm Daniel, one of the directors of Seraphim Pictures. Although we're more interested in producing work for film and TV we've recently begun exploring the possibilities of combining film and theatre in mixed media productions. At the moment we're toying with the idea of adapting iconic movies for the stage (no mean feat where performance rights are concerned...)

If anyone's had any experience with this sort of thing feel free to get in touch :)
Hi Daniel

I don't know if you know of Red Shift Theatre Company's work over the last 25 years or so but they pretty much cornered the market in producing iconic movies in a stage form - including Vertigo and Get Carter. Just google the company name to check out their back catalogue which includes some properties they hold the rights to which can be negotiated in a fairly straightforward manner. If you do end up contacting the director Jonathan Holloway mention my name as we're old mates having gone to college together - same drama intake.
Hi Peter - thanks for the info - will be sure to check them out :)

Hello all! I'm Ross and I'm a teacher and writer from the valleys just above Newport. I currently write sketches for Newsrevue in London and The Treason Show in Brighton but am looking to broaden my writing into theatre and perhaps film. I have recently completed a stage play but have no idea if it's any good so would appreciate anyone who has experience of reading scripts having a look at it and give me some idea if I'm barking up the right tree or just swimming against the tide.
I'm also looking to attend more theatre productions particularly the more unusual ones. I was recently strapped to a wheelchair and blindfolded in the name of 'art'. Quite alternative!

Hi Catherine, I am Kama Roberts and I am and actress. I graduated from RWCMD in 2005. I know live in the hills in mid-Powys and work as an administrator at the Living Willow Theatre. This site is a god send for me, I am really keen to develop creative projects in Wales and hope this site will help me to connect with like minded folk. I am deeply committed to working in Wales and offering a positive theatre experience to the whole community. To be part of the production of top class theatre in Wales would be a dream come true. I hope to use the talent I have been gifted with to alter normal peoples (not just regular theatre goers) perception of the world for the good of tomorrow; in any tiny way that this microscopic life can allow us to. I'm sure that sounds horribly sentimental, but I don't care!x
