Event Description

Public Art is nowadays a prominent feature of the urban and rural landscape and it is becoming very rare when a new build or regeneration scheme is not adorned or embellished by the artist. As a sculptor who works predominantly in the public domain, Nigel Talbot considers the history and value of public art and wonders if sometimes the white wall is preferable.

Nigel Talbot studied Fine Art in England, Wales and Scotland between 1970-76 and has had a studio/base in Wales since 1978. He has exhibited in Europe and the USA where he has work in private and public collections. In 1985 Nigel trained as an Art Teacher and subsequently taught in Caldicot Comprehensive School until 1997. Since 1997 Nigel has worked exclusively in the public domain as a Resident Artist or to Commission as well as lecturing at numerous colleges in the UK and the USA as a visiting artist.

Free to Members, £2.00 non-members
