Hynt are partnering with Disability Arts Cymru to host a symposium at the Walls:Muriau Mental Health Arts Festival in Cardiff. This event will bring together theatres, arts centres, performers, producers, companies and other creative professionals working across the performing arts to discuss barriers to access and diversity.
We will be focusing on issues facing audiences and performers with mental ill health. Specifically we will be looking at:
How we can reduce stigma and challenge perceptions around mental health
Audience Development: what we can do to increase access to and involvement in the arts for those experiencing and living with mental ill health
Artists: what we can do to support emerging and established artists living with mental illness
This symposium develops the work of Hynt and Disability Arts Cymru in creating and promoting good practice around accessible performances and increasing the diversity of our organisations, audiences and on our stages.
