Huddles

We know that freelance artists have to deal with a lot more than just making great work. So we’re programming a new series of artist-led events designed to support the development of administrative and business skills that contribute towards the professional lives of artists.

We'll be using this space to post interesting opportunities that come up in the sessions, or invite conversation from artists about what they would like to discuss at future Huddles. We will be working with Theatr Gen, Pontio and Aberystwyth Arts Centre to host the next three events.

Two organisations that were discussed as part of the Huddle were

Business in Focus - offer bespoke consultancy and training for start up business (funded by the Welsh Gov) with offices across South Wales. Training courses are Free of Charge.

and

CULT Cymru - Initiated by a number of unions (BECTU, Writers Guild of GB etc) it offers training that is 'relevant, accessible and affordable'. You can fill out their learning survey on their website which feeds into to how and when they programmer particular courses.

Both worth a look.
