Event Description

I don't know many NTW readers travel up & down the M4. But the Finborough is reviving Emlyn Williams' "Accolade" from 1950 from tomorrow for most of February.

The director is the first recipient of a Leverhulme directors' bursary. It's an amazing play for the climate of the time in which it was written. Like "Separate Tables" it is a coded gay text & fits in well with the general reappraisal of Rattigan that is going on now. I wrote in December 2008 of the remarkable modernity of "After the Dance" a year and a half before the National Theatre took it on. I am sure well worth seeing.
