Event Description

The Weston, Wed 1 July 19.30 & Thurs 2 July, 19.00

20 years after the end of its Civil War, Mozambican society is still scarred by battle lines. In one of Unity’s hardest-hitting performances to date, Borderlines exposes some of the forces at work at the heart of human conflict – superiority and domination, freedom and imposition, desire and hatred – and searches for a world where differences can co-exist peacefully. This is powerful and relentless dance featuring spoken word and song.

“…most distinctive in how it communicates questions of identity through the body… This is an honest work.” -New York Times on ‘Time and Spaces: The Marrabenta Solos’.

Part of Hijinx Unity Festival; five days celebrating the very best inclusive arts from around the world.Performers from Mozambique, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy and aross the UK will perform in Cardiff’s vibrant City Centre and at the prestigious Wales Millennium Centre.
