This is the first touring show in the Main Auditorium for 50 years ! My family have strong links with this building visiting often and even performing here in the thirties. Fantastic to finally have my lighting design in the building. Gladiator is about hope and aspiration. The memo was funded and built by the people of Newbridge as not only a memorial to the miners who fought in WW1, but as an expression of hope in the future and faith in the strength of the community. Larry Allen's comedy is perfect first touring performance at The Memo. It's made from the same stuff, gritty humour about life in the valleys, telling a story that's relevant and entertaining to its community but also one that resonates with a nation. Please come and see this play at Newbridge Memo, its important for so many reasons.
