Delivered by Collective Encounters.

Collective Encounters is a professional arts organisation specialising in theatre for social change through collaborative practice. We use theatre to engage those on the margins of society, telling untold stories and tackling the local, national and international concerns of our time. There are four main strands to our work that all feed into each other; participatory projects, mounting productions, research, and training. The content for this course is based on Collective Encounters approach and research on delivering creative projects with older people, including those living with dementia.

This full day workshop combines presentations from tutors, peer-action-learning and practical exercises, which will introduce participants to:
• A broad range of Creative Ageing practice, illustrated through national and international case studies
• The context to the work
• The social impact and benefits of the work
• Aspects of good practice in Creative Ageing

The workshop will explore the:
• Practical and ethical challenges of working with older adults
• The creative potential of this work
• Practical ideas and exercises

This workshop is aimed at artists from all disciplines working in communities and using creativity as a tool for change, and also those working in the wider heritage, cultural and voluntary sector. No Fit State will take the lead on recruiting attendees.

Schedule and location: Tuesday 16 July 2019, 10.30 – 4pm, NoFit State Circus, Four Elms Road, Cardiff CF24 1LE
