yello brick and Wales Millennium Centre’s Creative Learning department have come together to offer a series of workshops centred around making creative projects. From writing and developing worlds to making street games, workshops are free to attend and are aimed at people aged between 16 - 25.

1) How to make your own street games with yello brick
11th April 2018
6pm - 8pm

Come and play some games and then make some games!

An interactive workshop led by yello brick that will focus on creating playful experiences in public spaces. The workshop will take you through yello brick’s step by step process when making interactive street games and will go through the tools and techniques to create your own games using story, tech and place.

2) Developing worlds/making immersive experiences across multi-platform
25th April 2018
6pm - 8pm

Come and explore how yello brick create story worlds that move from physical through to digital. This practical workshop will explore how content can be created in ways that will immerse audiences in new and interesting ways. The workshop will investigate these techniques through past yello brick projects including Traces, Reverie, everwake and Silent State.

3) ASK US ANYTHING - Project surgeries
18th April 2018 & 9th May 2018
6pm - 8pm*

Are you working on a project and need some advice and guidance? Or are you looking to make something but don’t know how to start? Or do you just want to run some ideas passed someone? From project concept to project delivery and everything in between the yello brick team are offering to be your sounding board and give practical advice on making work.

*Slots are 30 mins long for individuals or small groups. Booking is on a first come first serve basis.

4) Writing workshop with Kelly Jones
2nd May
6pm - 8pm

A writing workshop led by Kelly Jones that looks at techniques and tools to use when creating storyworlds and narratives for live work. Kelly was the winner of the Wales Drama Award in 2014. She has recently completed a Writers residency at Theatr Clwyd and is currently on the Emerging Playwrights Program at The Bush Theatre.
