Latest Activity: Feb 1, 2011
The Centre for Performance Research (CPR) and Ymlaen Ceredigion seek five freelance community arts facilitators to assist with the delivery of a food and performance project that will be run with small groups of young people in five regions of Ceredigion - Llanarth, Llandysul, Llangybi, Newquay and Penparcau – from March to May 2011.
Each facilitator will be assigned to one region and will be required to facilitate sessions with their community group for the equivalent of one day per week for 12 weeks. The sessions will be used to design and create the menu and setting for a feast. Inspiration can be drawn from a story, poem, place, journey or anything from popular culture that interests the group. Local resources and produce should be involved where possible. The raw ingredients will be placed in a package along with instructions, images, props, tableware, interviews, scripts - things that will reveal the design process and also serve as the tools for the performance that will unfold when the box is opened and the meal (re)-created by one of the other groups.
Candidates should have experience of working with community groups and/or young people on creative projects and be able to demonstrate the skills they believe are necessary to fulfill this project.
For more information, in the first instance please contact Helen Gethin at CPR (details below).
Application is by CV and covering letter. Applications should be sent to Helen Gethin at the by email or post by the end of Wednesday 16 February 2011.
