This summer they are coming to the city!
Last July a group of established and emerging artists arrived in Dale, on the Pembrokeshire coast, meeting for the first time under the auspices of National Theatre Wales’ ‘Summercamp’. They spent two weeks creating new work inspired by each other and the sites and landscapes they found themselves in. This group later formed a collective called 1800hrs (the notional amount of sunlight hours that Dale enjoys each year).
1800hrs present a weekend event of film, installation, performance, discussion and workshops on the 12th-14th June at Cardiff MADE Gallery. From The Sea To The City promises to be an eclectic show case of contemporary multi-disciplinary art, stretching our perception of how we can inhabit, view and move through land and seascape and touching on the intimately personal and more widely political.
Exhibiting artists include: Farah Allibhai - Hazel Anderson - Verena Eva van der Berg - Catrin Clarke - Jack Furness - Heloise Godfrey-Talbot - Hee Ran Lee - Jac Ifan Moore - Tina Pasotra - Ailsa Richardson - Ben Tinniswood - Josh alan Trask - Rachel Helena Walsh
“Though predominately based in Wales, we are from various cultural backgrounds as well as countries including the Netherlands and Republic of Korea. Whilst working in different disciplines including writing, film, music, visual and live art, performance, dance and theatre, we aim to continue collaborating and inspiring each other and inviting others to share our work and processes in the many communities in which we find ourselves.”
