Event Description

A Climate and Arts Based Workshop for young people, living / working in and around South Wales.

What would the weather have been like in the Brecon Beacons in 1816, and how might it change by 2080? Will it be hotter, colder, wetter, drier? The Green Man Trust is working with artist, Inés Cámara Leret and researcher, George Adamson, who are exploring how our local experiences of weather change over time. They are part of a team creating an immersive installation, Weather the Weather, that models and creates weather conditions across two centuries, and will be exhibited in Einstein’s Garden, Green Man’s science engagement area at this year’s Green Man festival.

As part of the development of this installation, Inés and George are hosting a zine making workshop for eight young people aged 18 - 25 to explore the past and the future of the weather in and around the Brecon Beacons. This workshop will be hosted at Peak Cymru’s Platfform 2 Reading Room, at Abergavenny Train Station, and the group will be invited to Green Man Festival to view the Weather the Weather installation.
