Event Description

A short devised performance inspired by food, families, and cultural fusion and shared by young people from communities around Cardiff Bay.

We have been working with young people from Butetown and Grangetown throughout 2015. They have shared their stories of their families, of what home means to them, of how food, love, memories and their imaginations are intertwined.

Working together with the young people, along with composer Tim Riley, musician Ansuman Biswas, and theatre practitioners Nick Cassenbaum, Emily Harwood and Sarah Bawler, we have created a short musical and storytelling performance.

There will be two performances on Saturday 11th April, both on the Glanfa stage at the Wales Millennium Centre.

Performances are at 12.30 and 6.30, and are 20 minutes long.

This event is FREE and there is no need to book.

Writer and composer Tim Riley said: “It has been fascinating to hear about the children's 'food memories' and how they connect with their ideas of family, home, and living in Cardiff. From their work I have been inspired to write a song called 'Home' to be featured alongside readings and examples of the children's work on the Glanfa Stage.”
